The Story
There was a period in my life when I spent a great deal of time traveling.
At the time, I was living just across the river from Manhattan in West New York, New Jersey, and business had me flying back and forth between New York and Europe on a regular basis.
I was fortunate enough to spend a great deal of time in Croatia, Montenegro, and Slovenia. Those countries became much more than places I visited. I made wonderful friends there and have many great memories from those years.
When Anabela created this exhibit, we decided to bring those journeys together into a single piece.
If you look closely, you'll see landmarks that represent both chapters of my life.
On the left are New York and London, two cities that played major roles in my business and music career.
On the right are Croatia, Montenegro, and Slovenia, places that introduced me to a different pace of life and experiences I'll never forget.
To me, this artwork became something of a passport.
A reminder of where life was taking me during those years.
As with many of the exhibits from this period, we included one of my recipes.
This time it was Sauteed Sea Bass with Summer Squash.
It's a simple, healthy dish that lets fresh ingredients do the talking, and it reflected the style of cooking I was enjoying at the time.
Looking back now, this piece reminds me that life can take you to places you never imagined.
Sometimes you travel for business.
Sometimes for opportunity.
And sometimes the places you visit become part of who you are.
This exhibit reminds me of a chapter filled with airplanes, passports, new friendships, and experiences that I'll always be grateful for.
